Director of Operations Attends PJPUR FGD
In accordance with Law No. 7
of 2011 concerning Currency, Bank Indonesia is given the task and authority to
manage Rupiah currency starting from the stages of Planning, Printing, Issuing,
Circulation, Revocation, and Withdrawal to Destruction. That the management of
Rupiah currency needs to be carried out properly in order to support the
maintenance of monetary stability, financial system stability and the smooth
running of the payment system. The management of Rupiah currency by Bank
Indonesia is aimed at ensuring the availability of Rupiah currency suitable for
circulation, in the appropriate denomination, on time according to the needs of
the community and safe from counterfeiting.
On this basis, Bank Indonesia
provides direct supervision to companies engaged in Rupiah Money management
services (PJPUR) in carrying out their business activities. So that the PJPUR
company's business activities are ensured to run according to money management
standards that have been stipulated by law.
Thursday, June 17, 2021 at
the Hotel Indonesia Kempinski, the Indonesian Cash Processing Services
Association (APJATIN) as the association that houses PJPUR companies held a
Forum Group Discussion (FGD) which was attended by all members and of course
invited Bank Indonesia as the regulator as one of the resource persons. . The
FGD was held aimed at strengthening the position of PJPUR which is required to
comply with the general and specific laws and regulations governing the PJPUR
industry. Meanwhile, on the other hand, the existing fact is that the current
capability and condition of PJPUR does not allow it to implement all applicable
laws and regulations.
In the day-long FGD activity,
the material for the event apart from remarks and briefings from Bank
Indonesia, intense discussions and sharing on institutional, operational and
service costs of the PJPUR company were held. Each discussion material is
presented and guided by experts who have long experience in their fields.
“This event is very useful,
we can discuss comprehensively about the issues that are experienced by each
PJPUR company. For example, the intense competition between companies, the
completion of capital fulfillment requirements and equality between PJPUR and
business partners. After attending and listening directly, hopefully Bank
Indonesia can provide the best solution for the improvement of PJPUR's business
in the future,” said Joko Sri Purwoko. The Director of Operations of SSI who
was present represented the company at the event.
Hopefully the FGD can provide
new insights and solutions for PJPUR companies in general, and of course for
SSI in particular in running a profitable Rupiah currency management business
while still meeting the management standards set by law.
