Editorial Tips: SAVE ENERGY, SAVE COST
Energy use in industry
has an important role in maintaining national energy supply. Energy is one of
the most important elements in national development, because good energy use
can encourage a country's economic growth. For industry players, of course, good
and efficient energy users can also save costs.
Like other companies, PT SSI also implements a cost-saving policy, for the sake of the company's sustainability in facing the swift flow of competition in the PJ PUR industry and uncertain economic conditions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The company invites all SSI personnel to participate in saving energy by changing behavior and using electronic equipment / technology efficiently, so that it will have a significant impact in efforts to save the company's operational costs.
This time the editorial team will share tips on how to save electricity costs at each SSI office throughout Indonesia:
1. Turn off electronic
devices that are not in use
Not all electronic
equipment is used / turned on all the time. For example, the lighting can be
turned off during the day, the computer and Air Conditioner (AC) are turned on
only when in use. If it is time for rest or the room is empty then the machine
can also be rested.
2. Manage the
operational schedule efficiently
Set an operational
schedule accordingly to the operation of machines or activities that require
large energy. Design an operational schedule for effective use of energy every
time. Based on external data, that the use of high-energy machines outside of
peak hours can save energy by up to 30%.
3. Machine maintenance
regularly and periodically
Machinery and
equipment in industry has many components. When one of the components is
damaged, its ability will decrease and the workload increases. The greater the
workload of a tool, it requires a large amount of energy to operate it.
Maintaining machines and tools on a regular basis is an effective way to save
energy in industry. Machines and equipment must be kept clean, replace damaged
components, use engine oil, and periodically check the performance of machines
and equipment.
4. Replacing
energy-efficient electronic equipment
Replacing the bulb
with energy-efficient LED lights, installing insulators on the roof and walls
so that the room temperature is more stable, installing a detection device on
the room lights so that the lights will automatically turn off when no one is
in the room, and many other equipment that can be used or replaced to save
energy and be environmentally friendly.
5. Remove the plug if
the machine is not in use
That electricity will
continue to flow while the engine plug cable is still connected to the power
line. A simple thing that is often overlooked
Those are the tips that we share, hopefully it will be useful for all SSI people and the company. With the hope that employees support the cost efficiency efforts implemented by the company, so that targets can be achieved and employee welfare increases.
